HIP-Check
HIP-Check
When reading a map, you have to know where exactly North is or it will lead you astray. And you have a compass to check it. In the articulator an accurate alignment of the casts with the cranial references can be more important than articulator settings. Why should we NOT need something to check this alignmend and have to trust it blindly?
Such a system is made available with the HIP-Check. It is a template which fits the HIP-Mount. To verify cast orientation in the articulator just follow these 4 simple steps:
1.Slide the HIP-Check underneath the dental arch of the mounted maxillary cast.
2.Adjust the height of the HIP-Mount so that the articulator can be closed with its anterior guide pin set to “0” without interference from the teeth.
3.Use silicone putty to create a check-bite, the underside of which will be molded by the HIP-Check creating a recess into which the bite fork of the HeadLines fits.
4.Fit the checkbite onto the maxillary teeth in the patient’s mouth and use the HeadLines to verify the cast orientation in the articulator to the cranial reference points of the patient.
